Admissions Qualifications
An applicant for admission to the freshman class must have satisfactorily
completed the eighth grade or its equivalent. To be considered for admission to
Saint Ignatius, students must take the Entrance Exam at Saint Ignatius in January
of their eighth grade year. The school accepts applicants on the basis of scores
on an entrance exam, previous academic performance and previous standardized testing,
the promise of future development, consideration
of Catholic heritage/school, the family's history (if any) with the school, and
adherence to the policies of the school. Saint Ignatius College Prep admits students
of any gender, race or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and
activities made available at the school. We do not discriminate on the basis
of gender, race or ethnic origin in the administration of our educational policies
or policies related to admissions, scholarship opportunities, tuition assistance,
athletics and other school-administered programs.
Saint Ignatius follows an admission and enrollment policy of Family Acceptance.
This means a preferential acceptance of children of alumni and siblings of students
currently or recently enrolled who meet the school's basic academic standard. Family
Acceptance is extended to students whose parents have taken the responsibility for
furthering the exceptional educational atmosphere at Saint Ignatius. This means
that parents have been responsible in dealing with faculty and administration when
issues of academics or discipline occur; responsible in paying their tuition in
a timely manner; and responsible in making an appropriate pledge annually and fulfilling
it. Saint Ignatius reserves the right not to accept or reregister students at any
grade level whose parents have not met the responsibilities above.
Applicants may be offered admission for available places at the freshmen,
sophomore, and junior grade levels. Transfer
students are admitted at the beginning of the school year.

Campus Visit Program - "Ignatian for a Day"
In order to make an informed decision on where to attend high school, we encourage
interested eighth grade students to spend a day on the Saint Ignatius campus as
an "Ignatian for a Day". Each eighth grade student will accompany a current freshman
and will attend class, meet teachers and students, have lunch in the
cafeteria and experience a typical day of a Saint Ignatius student.
"Ignatian for a Day" or campus visits may only be made by students in the eighth
grade. Campus Visit Days can be scheduled any regular school day between September
11, 2012 and December 12, 2012.
Registration is accessible online at Campus Visit Program.
Transfer Information
Admission to Saint Ignatius in any status other than a first-time incoming
freshman is handled on a case-by-case basis. Saint Ignatius reviews the number
of openings after June 1st. The following documents must be in by June
1, 2013:
- One-page transfer application - Please include the last day of school for your current
school.
- Unofficial transcripts - Have school send official transcripts after school year
is complete.
- Three letters of recommendation from current school - One from principal or assistant
principal, - Two from current teachers
- Copies of most recent standardized test ( STS, PSAT, SAT, ACT, etc.)

All of the above must be in by June 1, 2013 in order for an applicant to
be considered for transfer. After this information is received, the application

Tuition Assistance Program
Tuition Assistance is available to students with demonstrated financial need.
We are fortunate to be able to offer tuition assistance to families whose children
would otherwise be unable to attend Saint Ignatius. Each year we offer close to
$3 million in tuition assistance. Accepted students will receive tuition assistance
applications in their enrollment packet. Every family, regardless of family income,
is invited to apply. CLICK HERE for a PowerPoint
