Introduction

This page is designed to offer you, the athlete, and your parents, information on what is expected of a member of the Wolfpack soccer team. Contained herein you will find information pertaining to all the policies and goals that the coaching staff has set forth to help insure the highest possible levels of competition and commitment to the program.  Our intention is to make your experience on the team the most rewarding it can be.

Coaching Staff

Varsity Head Coach -- Rob Stassen
Assistant Varsity Coach -- Jessica Withrow
Head JV Coach -- Matt Sparapani
Assistant JV Coach -- Jake Longo

The Team

The girls soccer program competes in 3A and the GCAC Red Division. The program continues to face the toughest non-conference schedule possible in and out of state, including having played recent teams: St. Viator, Waubonsie Valley, Lyons Township, Sandburg, Lincoln-Way East, Hinsdale Central, New Trier, Springfield, Glenwood Chatham, Madison West, and Madison Edgewood.

The Team Beyond Soccer

The entire staff is committed to making the program the most successful one it can be.  We are also committed to helping your daughters become successful, not only in soccer, but all aspects of their everyday lives.  We have the opportunity to interact with them on a daily basis and like to think of ourselves as an extended family, looking out for your daughter's best interests when you cannot be there. Values, camaraderie and responsibility are some of the other things we teach, and hope they will carry these lessons on after their four years at Saint Ignatius. We are pleased with the progress the program has made on the field, but we realize that there is much to learn outside the realm of the soccer pitch.  Along with the games we play during the season, we also stress the importance of training and nutrition.  In terms of training, we have worked extensively on such diverse conditioning methods as weight training (strength, endurance), speed and agility, core balance, and cardiovascular endurance.

Spring Break

Both levels will have games and practices over the break. Therefore, we will continue with our policy (approved by the athletic department and school administration) regarding absences during this time. In short, we will not excuse any absence from practice due to family vacations. We strongly urge that every player attend every practice. The policy is explained further in the team rules section. During spring break, players will be required to attend double session practices.
