The Wolfpack took on the Chargers of St. Joseph yesterday, winning 77-45 in round one of the GCAC Championships. Emma Brennan scored 29 points and Colleen Hoffman added 19 points. Hallie Gross put up 16 points as Delia West and Laura Tonino played tough defense. The Pack play their next GCAC Championship match against Trinity on Tuesday at Trinity.

Last night the Wolfpack defeated Chicago Bulls Prep 66-14. Jessica Lewandowski scored 12 points and Colleen Hoffman scored 14 points. Molly Brennan played great defense along with Grace Cronin.

The Wolfpack improved to 10-13 on the season with a win over Niles West on Tuesday. Juniors Katie Gallagher (5 points) and Gabby Diamond (5 rebounds) led the way for the Pack. Junior Danielle Brown added strong defense to help shut down the Vikings. The team returns to action on Thursday, January 24, at home against Chicago Bulls Prep at 6 p.m.

In their last regular season conference game, the Wolfpack lost a hard-fought battle 63-53 to St. Joseph's. Junior Gabby Ortiz led the Pack with 14 points while senior Tara Brennan chipped in 10. Maura Walsh, who left the game with an injury, had 11 points in the loss. The Pack fall to 9-13 on the season and return to the hardwood on Tuesday at Niles West.

The Wolfpack defeated Guerin Prep 41-35 at the 23rd Annual McDonald's Shootout last Friday. The Pack was led by junior Gabby Diamond's 15 points and 7 rebounds. Senior Kelley McInerney chipped in with seven points and five rebounds. The Pack moves to 9-12 on the year.

The Wolfpack defeated the Panthers of Regina 25-15 in a very physical battle in Wilmette on Thursday night. Lauren Franklin (8 points) contributed with tremendous full court defense. Tara White led the Pack defense with more than 10 steals while scoring 7 points. Nina Mantich, Ashley Sablich and Abby McFayden (8 points) led the Wolfpack on the offensive and defensive boards.

The Wolfpack lost three games in the Wolfpack Christmas Tournament to Niles North, Marion Catholic and Oak Park-River Forest. The highlight was a close 39-31 loss to Marion Catholic. Lauren Franklin continues to contribute to the team on both ends of the court, playing ferocious defense and handling the ball. Tara White (19 points) consistently contributed offensively as a scorer and significantly as a scrappy defender. Claire Cullen-Conway’s (14 points) calm demeanor adds composure to the Pack offense and rebounding fire power.

The Wolfpack improved their overall record to 7-9 with a trip to the State Farm Holiday Classic in Bloomington, IL. After falling to 5th-seeded Morton in the opener on December 26th, the Pack rallied with three wins and took home the Consolation Championship for 9th place overall. The Wolfpack defeated Normal Community 47-23; senior Mattisyn Perak scored 12 points in the win while Nina Livermore added three rebounds and two assists and Caitlin Metcalfe grabbed two rebounds and three assists. The Wolfpack then returned to the hardwood on December 28th for two games. The Pack held off Geneseo 43-29. Junior Gabby Diamond led all scorers with 15 points, including a perfect four for four from behind the arc. Senior Tara Brennan had 5 points in the win, all from the free throw line. Junior Gabby Ortiz grabbed five rebounds as the Wolfpack improved their overall record to 6-9. In the late game, the Wolfpack defeated Sacred Heart Springfield 53-40. They were led by junior Katie Gallagher's 14 points and 7 rebounds. Senior Kelley McInerney had four points and four rebounds in the win. Junior Danielle Brown added five points while classmate Amanda Clark grabbed six rebounds. Rachel O'Grady contributed to the effort with three rebounds.

The Wolfpack placed 5th at the St. Francis Tournament. Ignatius defeated Evergreen Park 46-17 to open the tournament, lost to Trinity 62-39 and topped Evanston 60-32 to play for 5th place. The Pack defeated the Friars of Fenwick 48-41 behind Emma Brennan’s 18 points and Hallie Gross’s 10 points.

The Wolfpack lost 40-29 to conference foe Mother McAuley on Saturday at home. Great defense led by seniors Tara Brennan and Mattisyn Perak held the Might Macs to 12 points in the first half. Brennan had 10 points in the loss and junior Gabby Diamond added 7. The team falls to 4-8 on the year as they prepare for the State Farm Holiday Classic in Bloomington, IL. The team returns to action December 26th in their first tournament game against Morton.

After some tough losses at the Marist Thanksgiving Tournament, the Wolfpack beat the Pride of Queen of Peace 39-18 at home on Tuesday night. The game plan called for focusing on defense, rebounding, running the floor and knowing how we were working together. The freshmen rose to the occasion! A great example of our growing grit and determination was Lauren Franklin's (9 points) dive to the floor for a loose ball! Abbey McFadyen had 8 points of which 6 came early in the game when the Pack was establishing momentum. In addition to scoring 10 points, Hunter Tyson showed that she can play defense and run the court.
