CCL Champions!!!

The Wolfpack won the CCL Championship this weekend by beating Loyola Academy 3-2 on Friday. The Wolfpack has not accomplished this since 1991. In singles play Bobby Alter won 1st place at #1, Christopher Scott took 3rd place at #2 and Jimmy Perry came in 2nd place at #3. In doubles action, Nate Ryan and Crofton Kelly came in 1st place at #1 and LJ Maloney and Joe Nicolas came in 1st place at #2.

Pack 2nd at CCL Championship

The Wolfpack took 2nd place in the CCL championships on Friday. In singles play Nick Wilko came in 3rd place at #1, Brendan Downey came in 2nd place at #2 and Rob Lawrence came in 1st place at #3. In doubles play David Fox and Matt Sherlock came in 3rd place at #1 and Mike Troyke and Nick Hodges came in 3rd place at #2.

Split Squad Solid at Invite

This weekend the Wolfpack played in two separate invites - the Saint Ignatius Invite and the Lockport Invite. The Wolfpack won the Saint Ignatius Invite, defeating New Trier JV, Evanston and Walter Payton. At the Lockport Invite the Wolfpack came in 6th place out of 16 teams.

Wolfpack Defeat Romans

The Wolfpack played Latin on Wednesday and won 4-2. Bobby Alter at #1 singles won 6-4, 6-2 and Kent Keller at #3 won 6-1, 6-1. In doubles play Nate Ryan and Crofton Kelly at #1 lost a close battle 7-6, 6-2. LJ Maloney and Joe Nicolas at #2 won a close match 6-4, 6-4 while the #3 team of Jimmy Fox and Jimmy Perry won a tight three-set match to clinch the team victory 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Wolfpack Defeat Latin

The Wolfpack achieved an impressive win over Latin 4-2. All singles matches went in favor of Ignatius with Nick Wilko winning at #1 singles 6-4, 6-2. At #2 singles David Fox won 6-4, 6-4 and at #3 singles Rob Lawrence won a pro-set 8-1. The #1 doubles team of Brendan Downey and Matthew Sherlock won a close match 7-5, 7-5. At #2 doubles Mike Troyke and Nick Hodges lost in a very close match 3-6, 6-3, 8-10 and at #3 doubles Joe Noonan and Augie Bugsby lost 6-3, 6-2. And finally we were able to play a fourth, unofficial, match with #4 doubles Jack Willis and Mike Gupta winning a shortened pro-set 7-5.

The Wolfpack played Lane Tech on Tuesday, winning 5-0. In singles action Bobby Alter at #1 won 6-1, 6-1 while Christopher Scott at #2 won 4-6, 6-2, (10-7) in a tight match. In doubles Nate Ryan and Crofton Kelly at #1 won 6-0, 6-1. LJ Maloney and Joe Nicolas at #2 won a close match 6-1, 7-5 and at #3 doubles Jimmy Fox and Jimmy Perry won 6-3, 7-5.

Wolfpack Shut Out Lane

The Pack took on Lane Tech on Tuesday, shutting them out 4-0. In singles David Fox won his match 8-0, Nick Hodges won his match 8-2 and Mike Troyke won his match 8-0. Finally, in doubles play Brendan Downey and Rob Lawrence won a close match 9-7.

Wolfpack Stay Undefeated in CCL

The Wolfpack defeated the Crusaders 5-0 on Monday to remain undefeated in the CCL. In singles, Bobby Alter at #1 won 6-0, 6-0, Christopher Scott at #2 won 6-1, 6-1 and James Perry made it a sweep at #3 winning 6-0, 6-0. In doubles play Nate Ryan and Crofton Kelly at #1 won 6-0, 6-0. Matt Sherlock and David Fox at #2 won a close match 7-5, 6-4.

The Wolfpack took on the Crusaders on Monday, winning 2-1. In singles play Joe Noonan at #1 won 8-0 and Trevin O’Keefe at #2 won 6-4. Alvaro Leadsman and Daniel Fuentes lost a close match 8-5 in doubles competition.

Pack Win Crusader Classic

The Wolfpack took part in the Crusader Classic on Saturday, winning the championship. In the singles draw Bobby Alter won the tournament by beating De La Salle in the finals 6-1, 6-1. Christopher Scott defeated Lockport 6-0, 6-0 and placed 3rd. In the doubles draw Nate Ryan and Crofton Kelly won the tournament by defeating the Wolfpack’s #2 doubles team of Jimmy Fox and LJ Maloney. Everyone placed in the tournament and it was an impressive win for the Wolfpack.

The Wolfpack played Loyola Academy on Friday, winning 3-2 in the big CCL showdown. In singles play Bobby Alter at #1 won 6-0, 6-0 while Christopher Scott at #2 won 6-3, 6-0. In doubles matches Nate Ryan & Crofton Kelly at #1 won a tight match 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(3) while LJ Maloney and Joe Nicolas at #2 lost a close match 6-2, 7-6(5).

The Wolfpack faced stiff competition in conference rival Loyola Academy. At #1 singles Kevin Dingens lost 6-2, 6-1 and at #2 singles Brendan Downey fell 6-1, 6-1. At #3 singles freshman Rob Lawrence won 6-2, 6-1. In doubles play the #1 team of David Fox and Matt Sherlock lost in a tiebreaker 4-6, 7-6, 5-7, the #2 team of Nick Hodges and Mike Troyke lost 6-4,6-1 and the #3 doubles team of Augie Busby and Jack Willis fell at 6-1, 6-3.

The Wolfpack played the Latin Roman Invite last weekend taking 4th overall. Bobby Alter placed 3rd at #1 singles. Christopher Scott placed 3rd at #2 singles. Nate Ryan and Crofton Kelly place 5th at #1 doubles, Joe Nicolas and LJ Maloney placed 5th at #2 doubles and Jimmy Fox and Jimmy Perry placed 2nd at #3 doubles.

On Friday the Wolfpack swept the Celtics of Providence 5-0 to remain undefeated in the CCL. At #1 singles Bobby Alter won 6-2, 6-3, at #2 singles Christopher Scott won 6-1, 6-3, and at #3 singles Jimmy Fox won 6-2, 6-2. In doubles at #1, Nate Ryan and Crofton Kelly won 6-1, 6-0 and #2 doubles LJ Maloney and Joe Nicolas won 6-2, 6-0.

The Wolfpack played an outstanding meet in frigid conditions against Providence Catholic, winning 5-0. #1 singles Nick Wilko (6-1, 6-0) and #2 singles Matt Sherlock (6-1, 6-1) each won in straight sets. Doubles teams of Joe Noonan and Kevin Dingens at #1 won their match 6-1, 6-2, and the #2 team of Rob Lawrence and Augie Bugbsy won 6-1,6-3.

Pack Take Part in New Trier Invite

The Wolfpack took part in the New Trier Invitational this weekend. The competition was strong and they encountered many close matches. At #1 singles, Nick Wilko won his first round match against Naperville Central. The rest of the JV team had some tight matches but they were not able to pull out the win.

The Wolfpack competed in the OPRF Invite this weekend, finishing in 2nd place. In singles competition, Bobby Alter cane in 2nd place at #1 singles and Christopher Scott took 1st place at #2 singles. In doubles play, Nate Ryan and Joe Nicolas came in 3rd place at #1 doubles. Kent Keller and Kent Hutchinson came in 3rd place at #2 doubles. Finally, Mike Troyke and Brendan Downey came in 4th place at #3 doubles.

The Wolfpack had another impressive win yesterday, beating De La Salle 6-0. In singles play Bobby Alter at #1 singles won 6-0, 6-1 and Christopher Scott at #2 singles won 6-0, 6-0, keeping their unbeaten streak alive. At #3 singles Nick Wilco won a solid match 6-1, 6-2. In doubles action Nate Ryan and Crofton Kelly (#1 doubles) won 6-0, 6-0, Li Maloney and Joe Nicolas (#2 doubles) won 6-0, 6-0, and finally Kent Keller and Kent Hutchinson (#3 doubles) won 6-1, 6-1.

The Wolfpack had a solid 5-0 win yesterday over De La Salle. In singles play Kevin Dingens led the way at #1 singles, winning 6-1, 6-0 and Mike Troyke at #2 singles won 6-0, 6-1. In #3 singles action Joe Noonan won 6-1, 6-0. In doubles play Matt Sherlock and David Fox shut out their opponent 6-0, 6-0 while Brendan Downey and Will Cunningham at #2 doubles won 6-0, 6-1.

The Wolfpack had an impressive win yesterday over Whitney Young sweeping the Dolphins 6-0. In singles play Bobby Alter at #1 singles won 6-3, 6-0 and Christopher Scott at #2 singles won 6-0, 6-0. They remain undefeated for the season. In doubles competition Nate Ryan and Crofton Kelly at #1 doubles won 6-0, 6-0, LJ Maloney and Joe Nicolas at #2 doubles won 6-2, 6-0, Jimmy Fox and Jimmy Perry at #3 doubles won 6-2, 6-3, and finally Matt Sherlock and David Fox at #4 doubles won 6-0, 6-0.

Wolfpack Take 3rd at Triad Invite
03/18/2013 - Varsity

The Wolfpack traveled to Troy, IL to take part in the Triad Tournament this weekend. The Pack finished 3rd out of 16 teams which was the best finish for the Wolfpack at this Invite. The Wolfpack defeated Teutopolis 5-0 and Alton 4-1 but lost an extremely close match to Morton 3-2. Finally the team finished by defeating Triad 4-1 to place third. Senior Bobby Alter and junior Christopher Scott went undefeated in all their matches to kick off a great start to the season.
