Pack Take 3rd at JV and Three-Peat at FR-SO MCAC
The Wolfpack placed third overall at the MCAC Championships! Senior Captain Eloise Guth was fourth in the 200 freestyle and third place in the 100 freestyle. Sophomore Isabella Hobson scored seventh in the 200 IM. Senior Annmarie Drapszo grabbed third place in the 50 freestyle. Junior Sadie Ward was eighth in the 100 butterfly. Freshman Maggie Dirlam showed up big for the Wolfpack with the double seventh in the 500 freestyle. Sophomore Sasha Weffer was fifth in the 100 backstroke. Junior Caroline Guzina picked up 11th in the 100 breaststroke. Relay team of Drapszo, Alford, Ward, and Hobson were runner-ups in the 200 medley relay. Relay team of Hobson, Drapszo, Guth, and Weffer were runner-ups in the 200 freestyle relay. Relay team of Hobson, Drapszo, Guth, and Senior Captain Davidson were runner-ups in the 400 freestyle relay that came down to .03 of a second and secured third place over Benet Academy. At the Freshmen-Sophomore Championship the Wolfpack won the MCAC Championship for the third year in a row! Sophomore Caitlin Seder won the 11-dive competition and rebroke her fresh-soph meet record. Freshman Knox Kruk was second place after Seder with a new personal best score. Freshman Greta Mikulaninec was runner-up in the 200 freestyle and won the 100 freestyle. Freshman Alexis Ambrosino won the 200 IM. Sophomore Chayse Massimino and Freshman Emma Pairone swept the 100 butterfly with a 1-2 finish. Sophomore Penelope Del Aguila Solis was third in the 500 freestyle and runner-up in the 100 backstroke. Relay team of Del Aguila Solis, Ambrosino, Pairone, and Sophomore Kennedy Riley won the 200 medley relay. Relay team of Pairone, Riley, Mikulaninec, and Massimino scored 2nd in the 200 freestyle relay and won the 400 freestyle relay.Read More -
Pack Out Swim Dolphins
The Wolfpack defeated the Whitney Young Dolphins 124-61. Junior Jackie Robinson won the 200 freestyle with a new best time with fellow Junior Lexie Jordan for second place. Sophomore Kennedy Riley won the 100 IM. Sophomore Isabella Hobson placed third in the 50 freestyle. Junior Sadie Ward followed suit and placed third in the 100 butterfly. Riley won the 100 freestyle with Junior Caroline Guzina placed fourth in the personal best time. Sophomore Isabella Curiel won the 300 freestyle. Sophomore Sasha Weffer was third in the 100 backstroke. Curiel won again in the 100 breast with Junior Emory Alford. Wolfpack relays swept 200 medley and 200 free relays and split the 400 freestyle relay for the win.Read More -
Pack Place 6th at Sandburg Invite
The Wolfpack placed sixth overall at the 27th annual Jane Caliendo Invitational at Sandburg. Freshman Margaret Dirlam scored nineteenth in the 200 freestyle. Junior Emory Alford was eighteenth in the 200 IM with a season-best time. Sophomores Isabella Hobson and Sasha Weffer were seventeenth and nineteenth in the 50 freestyle. Junior Caroline Guzina was twenty-first in the 100 freestyle with a new personal best. Sophomore Isabella Curiel was fifteenth in the 500 freestyle with Dirlam scoring eighteenth. The Weffer picked up twentieth in the 100 backstroke. Guzina threw down a new personal best 100 breaststroke time for seventeenth with Alford close behind for the nineteenth place. Curiel and Hobson were members of the 200 medley relay, which placed tenth. Hobson was also the anchor of the eleventh-place 200 freestyle relay.Read More -
Pack Edge Friars
The Wolfpack defeated the Friars 94-86 with many personal and season bests achieved. Senior Captain Eloise Guth won the 200 freestyle. Sophomore Kennedy Riley won the 200 IM with Freshman Naomi Schubkegel placing third. Sophomores Isabella Hobson and Sasha Weffer went one-two in the 50 freestyle. Senior Gigi Garner placed third in the 1m diving competition. Guth and Junior Sadie Ward scored first and second in the 100 butterfly. Junior Lexie Jordan was the sole wolfpack in the 500 freestyle and placed second with a season-best. Schubkegel, Weffer, and Ward swept the 100 backstroke. Riley won the 100 breaststroke with a season-best time. Wolfpack relays won the medley, first and third in the 200 free relay, and second and third in the 400 free relay.Read More -
Pack Win Friar Invite
The Wolfpack won the Friar Invitational over Neuqua Valley and Fenwick. Sophomores Kennedy Riley and Isabella Curiel scored second and third in the 200 freestyle. Sophomore Isabella Hobson was sixth in the 200 IM. Juniors Jackie Robinson and Lexie Jordan were fifteenth and sixteenth in the 50 freestyle. Freshmen Mia Scalise and Gweneth Pierce picked up fourteenth and fifteenth place in the 100 butterfly. Sophomore Sasha Weffer was twelfth in the 100 backstroke. Curiel closed out the meet with a runner-up performance in the 100 breaststroke and a season best time. Saint Ignatius won all three relays to score big points for the Wolfpack.Read More -
Wolfpack Stumble at Meet of the Century
The Pack (43 points/42 points) fell to Stevenson (144 points) and New Trier (143 points) in a meet labeled the “Tri-Meet of the Century”. For the third year in a row, the meet did not disappoint with many season-best performances and best times achieved by the Wolfpack. Freshmen Maggie Dirlam picked up a sixteenth-place finish in the 200 freestyle with Junior Lexie Jordan scoring seventeenth with a season-best time. Sophomore Isabella Hobson and Junior Jackie Robinson followed suit with a sixteenth and seventeenth-place finish in the 50 freestyle. Senior Captain Peyton Davidson placed nineteenth in the 100 butterfly with a season-best time. Hobson and Sophomore Sasha Weffer placed eighteenth and twentieth in the 100 freestyle. Sophomore Isabella Curiel was tenth in the 500 freestyle with Dirlam just off her personal best for fourteenth. Senior Annmarie Drapszo went season-best time in the 100 backstroke for ninteenth place. Senior Sophia Steuer was eighteenth in the 1m diving competition. Curiel closed the individual events with an eleventh place finish in the 100 breaststroke. The Wolfpack relays placed top twenty in the 200 medley, 200 free, and 400 freestyle relays.Read More -
Loyola Tops Pack
The Wolfpack faced off against Wilmette rivals, Loyola Academy. Saint Ignatius opened up the meet with the sweep in the diving portion with Sophomore Kasjhia Garner and Senior Sopha Steuer scoring second and third place. Sophomore Isabella Hobson placed second in the 200 freestyle. Sophomore Isabella Curiel won the 200 IM by almost 3 seconds. Sophomore Sasha Weffer placed fifth in the 50 freestyle. Junior Sadie Ward scored third place in the 100 butterfly. Sophomore Kennedy Riley won the 100 Freestyle. Curiel and Freshman Maggie Dirlam placed first and third in the 500 to score big points for the Wolfpack. Weffer and Ward placed fourth and fifth in the 100 backstroke. Wolfpack relays placed second and third in the 200 medley, second and fifth in the 200 free, and second and fourth in the 400 freestyle relay. Pack Three-Peat at Fenwick
The Wolfpack (490 total points) won their 3rd straight title at the annual Dan O’Brien Relays at Fenwick. Sophomore Isabella Hobson anchored the 200 Medley Relay in a 27.31 for the victory over Whitney Young. The Wolfpack B relay of Sophomore Sasha Weffer and Freshmen Maggie Dirlam, Gwen Pierce, and Mia Scalise placed 5th in the 200 Medley Relay. Sophomore Kennedy Riley swam the 100 leg on the 500 Crescendo Relay and won by over 20 seconds over Fenwick High School. Sophomore Isabella Curiel led off the 4x100 IM Relay and scored second. Riley followed suit and led off the 200 Free Relay to win over Fenwick. B relay team of Sophomores Morgan Hughes, Weffer, Hobson, and Freshman Scalise placed third in the 200 Free Relay. Weffer, Dirlam, Hughes, and Pierce placed second in the 4x25 Freestyle Relay. Hughes, Curiel, Scalise, Dirlam, Pierce, and Hobson were key legs on the second-place 8x50 Freestyle Relay. Weffer swam the second leg on the victorious 200 backstroke relay. Riley and Curiel swam the third and fourth leg of the 200 breaststroke relay. Riley swam the third leg again in the 4x100 Free Relay for the win. B relay team of Scalise, Pierce, Hobson, and Hughes placed fifth in the 4x100 Free Relay to close the meet.Read More -
Wolfpack Win Tri-Angular to Open Season
The Wolfpack (192 points) defeated the Deerfield Warriors (33 points) and Lane Tech Champions (107 points) to open the 2024 competition season at Deerfield. The Wolfpack opened the meet with a sweep of the 200 medley relay with a first and second-place finish. Freshman Maggie Dirlam placed fifth in the 200 freestyle. Sophomore Isabella Curiel placed second in the 200 IM. Sophomore Isabella Hobson and Sasha Weffer placed third and fourth in the 50 freestyle. Senior Sophia Steuer was fourth overall in the 1m diving competition. Junior Sadie Ward and Senior Peyton Davidson placed third and fourth respectively in the 100 butterfly. Sophomore Kennedy Riley won the 100 freestyle with Hobson scoring fourth place. Curiel won the 500 freestyle in an in-season best. The Wolfpack split the 200 freestyle relay for first and third place. Weffer and Ward scored third and fourth in the 100 backstroke. Riley placed third in the 100 breaststroke with Junior Emory Alford with a key fourth place.
