Wolfpack Win State Championship

The Wolfpack took on a competitive field of six schools from the Illinois area in what resulted in a wonderful day on the water at Sheridan Shores in Wilmette, IL. The Wolfpack consisted of Avery Baldwin (‘25), Sofia Sandoval (‘25), Matthew Schmitt (‘25) and Finn Connolly (‘26). A persistent southeasterly breeze helped the Wolfpack jump out in front of the fleet. Led by the pairing of Baldwin/Sandoval in the A Division, they delivered an almost perfect six race series going 1st,1st,1st,1st,3rd and 2nd to win the A-Division and help the team finish with a total of 30 points for the day and win the Illinois State Title. This finish allowed them to stay in from of New Trier’s team by 4 points and Evanston Township by 10 points. The Pack is thankful to Coach Bridget Groble (SICP ‘19) and Head Coach Hector Guzman for a great end to the season.
