The Wolfpack sent three wrestlers to the IHSA State Finals over the weekend that ended in a historic run by Nate Sanchez in 2A at 157 pounds. Sanchez became the first wrestler for the Wolfpack since 2001 to place at the IHSA State Finals taking 3rd Place. After defeating Ty Smart from Rockford 16-6 to open the weekend. Sanchez defeated Jasper Harper out of Providence Catholic 14-2 to climb to the final four. Wyatt Medlin from Washington stopped Nate with a TF (17-1) in his bid for a championship. In the wrestle backs, Sanchez had the same path as he defeated Smart (12-6) and Harper (13-7) for the second time each to grab the 3rd Place medal.
