Coach Justin Fernandez is building on his service to the Wolfpack. The head coach for Saint Ignatius College Prep Boys Swimming and Diving is taking on Girls Swimming and Diving, too. In the time Fernandez has been involved in Saint Ignatius Aquatics, he’s produced multiple MCAC Champions, IHSA Sectional Champs, IHSA State Finalists, and NISCA All-Americans.
Coach Fernandez, a native of Chicago, swam collegiately at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point from 2013-2017 and served as team captain.

Pack Place 14th at IHSA State Finals
The Wolfpack finished 14th overall at the 2024 IHSA Girls State Championships. The Wolfpack had a strong showing, highlighted by standout performances from returning athletes and newcomers. Junior Colleen Tracy and Sophomore Livia Cremer both advanced to the state finals in the 200 IM, with Tracy placing 15th and Cremer securing 5th. Livia’s performance propelled her to the #2 all-time performer in Saint Ignatius history. Cremer also competed in the 500 freestyle, where she placed 15th overall. Sophomore Caitlin Seder made history as the Wolfpack’s first-ever state diving finalist, finishing in 6th place. Junior Franchesca Sanchez, competing in her first state finals, earned 10th in the 100 butterfly. The relay team of Sanchez, Niaura, Cremer, and Tracy placed 12th overall in the 400 freestyle relay. IHSA Sectional Champions!!!
In an unforgettable showdown, the Wolfpack claimed their 20th consecutive IHSA Sectional Championship, edging out fierce rivals Whitney Young. The day began with an impressive sweep in the 1-meter diving competition. Sophomore Caitlin Seder and freshman Knox Kruk set the tone, with Seder breaking both her freshman-sophomore record and the school record, finishing with an outstanding score of over 500 points. The relays proved equally dominant as the team of sophomore Livia Cremer, sophomore Mariposa Arroyo, junior Franchesca Sanchez, and senior captain Madi Manning powered to a victory in the 200 Medley Relay. In the 200 Freestyle, junior Maeve Shannon and freshman Greta Mikulaninec had impressive performances, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively, to earn key points for the team. Cremer teamed up with junior Colleen Tracy for a 1-2 finish in the 200 Individual Medley (IM), while Manning and junior Angela Wideikis placed second and fourth, respectively, in the 50 Freestyle. Sanchez and junior Margaret Hickey posted strong performances, with Sanchez finishing first and Hickey third in the 100 Butterfly. In the 100 Freestyle, junior Liepa Niaura and Tracy secured second and third place finishes. Cremer and Arroyo then dominated the 500 Freestyle, finishing first and third. The 200 Freestyle Relay saw Niaura, Wideikis, Tracy, and Manning race to a runner-up finish, while Niaura and Sanchez continued their strong showings, finishing second and third in the 100 Backstroke. Arroyo and Wideikis scored big points for the team, placing third and sixth, respectively, in the 100 Breaststroke. The meet culminated with a thrilling victory in the 400 Freestyle Relay, where Sanchez, Niaura, Cremer, and Tracy clinched the sectional title. Thanks to these outstanding performances, the following nine athletes will represent Saint Ignatius College Prep at the 2024 IHSA State Championships: Madi Manning, Colleen Tracy, Angela Wideikis, Liepa Niaura, Franchesca Sanchez, Livia Cremer, Mariposa Arroyo, Caitlin Seder and Knox Kruk. Wolfpack Place 4th at MCAC
The Pack placed fourth overall at the MCAC Championships. Junior Alexis Nelson scored third place in 11-dive competition. Junior Colleen Tracy and Sophomore Livia Cremer scored third and fourth in the 200 IM. Junior Franchesca Sanchez was runner-up in the 100 butterfly with fellow Junior Margaret Hickey placing fifth with a new best time. Tracy was runner-up in the 500 freestyle with Sophomore Mariposa Arroyo scoring fifth place. Cremer teamed up with Liepa Niaura in the 100 backstroke to score fourth and seventh. Niaura also scored 8th place in the 100 freestyle. Relay team of Cremer, Arroyo, Hickey, and Senior Madi Manning placed fifth in the 200 medley relay. Pack Place 6th at St. Charles North Invite
The Wolfpack capped off the regular season with a sixth-place performance at the St. Charles Showcase at St. Charles North. The evening began with a drum line, walkouts, light shows, and a video of this season's best moments for all competing teams. 200 Medley Relay Team of Sophomore Livia Cremer, Sophomore Mariposa Arroyo, Junior Franchesca Sanchez, and Senior Madi Manning placed seventh. Freshman Greta Mikulaninec was thirteenth in the 200 Freestyle with a new season-best time. Cremer and Junior Colleen Tracy placed third and fifth in the 200 IM with new seasonal bests. Manning was eighth in the 50 Freestyle with a new personal best. Sanchez was 11th in the 100 Butterfly. Junior Liepa Niaura and Tracy were tenth and eleventh in the 100 Freestyle. Wolfpack Place 10th at Red Devil Invite
The Wolfpack placed 10th at the annual Hinsdale Central Dive Invitational. Freshman Knox Kruk was 37th with 144.95 points. Junior Alexis Nelson was scored 27th with a score of 159.20. Sophomore Caitlin Seder was the highest scoring Wolfpack diver with 380.80 points for 10th place.Read More -

The Wolfpack placed fifth overall at the 46th Annual Trevian Relays. Sophomore Livia Cremer and Junior Liepa Niaura scored sixth and seventh in the 200 freestyle. Junior Colleen Tracy was runner-up in the 200 IM with an in-season best. Senior Captain Madi Manning was sixth in the 50 freestyle. Freshman Emma Pairone was 10th in the 100 butterfly. Niaura picked up a 9th place finish in the 100 freestyle. Sophomore Penelope Del Aguila Solis was 12th in the 500 freestyle. The Pack defeated the Whitney Young Dolphins 108-78 on Senior Night. Junior Colleen Tracy won the 200 freestyle. Sophomore Livia Cremer was runner-up in the 200 IM. Senior Captain Madi Manning won the 50 freestyle and Junior Liepa Niaura went 1-2 in the 50 freestyle. Juniors Franchesca Sanchez and Margaret Hickey placed second and third in the 100 butterfly. Niaura and Tracy went 1-2 the 100 freestyle. Sophomores Mariposa Arroyo and Penelope Del Aguila Solis placed second and third in the 500 freestyle. Wolfpack Bring Home Title at Viking Relays
The Wolfpack won the Viking Relay Invitational at Fremd on Saturday scoring 194 points overall and winning by 14 points over second place Fremd. Sophomore Caitlin Seder and Junior Alexis Nelson placed third overall in the combined scored 1m diving competition. Junior Liepa Niaura, Sophomore Mariposa Arroyo, Junior Franchesca Sanchez, and Freshman Greta Mikulaninec were runner-ups in the 200 medley relay. Junior Colleen Tracy teamed up with Sophomores Livia Cremer and Chayse Massimino to defend their 3x100 medley relay title, winning by over 6 seconds. Senior Madi Manning and Junior Angela Wideikis won the combined 50 freestyle event. Niaura, Arroyo, and Mikulaninec joined Junior Maeve Shannon to win the 200 freestyle relay. Sanchez and Junior Margaret Hickey placed second in the 50 fly combined event. Wideikis, Hickey, Shannon, Sanchez won the 300 butterfly relay. Cremer and Niaura wonthe combined 50 backstroke event. Pack Grab 6th at Sandburg Invite
The Wolfpack placed sixth overall at the 27th annual Jane Caliendo Invitational at Sandburg. The divers opened the meet on Friday evening with big points for the Wolfpack. Sophomore Caitlin Seder won the 11-dive competition with Junior Alexis Nelson placing fourth and freshman Knox Kruk close behind for fifth. All three went new personal best scores. Senior Captain Eloise Guth was seventeenth in the 200 freestyle. Freshman Naomi Schubkegel was seventeenth in the 200 IM. Senior Annmarie Drapszo was fourteenth in the 50 freestyle. Junior Caroline Welch and Freshman Elle Carlson placed eleventh and fourteenth in the 100 butterfly. Guth and Schubkegel placed fourteenth and nineteenth respectively in the 100 freestyle. Welch picked up a season-best in the 100 backstroke for fifteenth with Drapszo close by for sixteenth. The freshman pair of Schubkegel and Carlson played big roles in the tenth place in the 200 medley relay. The pair teamed up with Welch for an eleventh-place 200 freestyle relay. Wolfpack Take 3rd at Rosary Invite
The Pack placed third overall at the annual Rosary Invitational in Aurora. Junior Colleen Tracy was fifth in the 200 freestyle with Sophomore Chayse Massimino, Freshman Greta Mikulaninec, and Junior Maeve Shannon placing twelfth, thirteenth, and fifteenth respectively. Sophomore Livia Cremer was third in the 200 IM with Freshman Alexis Amberosino picking up eleventh. Junior Franchesca Sanchez was sixth in the 50 freestyle along with Senior Madi Manning for seventh, and Junior Angela Wideikis for tenth. Sanchez teamed up with fellow Junior Margaret Hickey and Freshman Emma Pairone for a fourth, seventh, and eleventh-place finish in the 100 butterfly. Junior Liepa Niaura joined Tracy, Wideikis, Manning, and Mikulaninec for a big points gain in the 100 freestyle scoring fourth, fifth, tenth, twelfth, and thirteenth. The sophomore distance crew of Livia Cremer, Mariposa Arroyo, and Penelope Del Aguila Solis followed up with a third-place, seventh-place, and twelfth-place finish. The Wolfpack defeated the Friars 117-68 with many personal and season bests achieved. Juniors Colleen Tracy and Angela Wideikis scored first and second in the 200 freestyle. Freshman Alexis Ambrosino and Sophomore Chayse Massimino secured second and third in the 200 IM. Senior Madi Manning won the 50 freestyle wit a new personal best. Wolfpack Hold Their Own at Friar Invite
Wolfpack Diving held their own against Dunlap, Neuqua Valley, Fenwick and Lane Tech at the Friar Invitational. The event was an 11-dive competition for the young Wolfpack squad. The Pack (43 points/42 points) fell to Stevenson (144 points) and New Trier (143 points) in a meet labeled the “Tri-Meet of the Century”. For the third year in a row, the meet did not disappoint with many season-best performances and best times achieved by the Wolfpack. Junior Alexis Nelson and Freshmen Knox Kruk were ninth and tenth in the 1m diving competition. Junior Angela Wideikis and Freshmen Greta Mikulaninec scored eighth and ninth in the 200 freestyle with season best times. Sophomore Livia Cremer and Junior Colleen Tracy were fifth and sixth in the 200 IM. Senior Madi Manning was seventh in the 50 freestyle with a season best time. The Wolfpack faced off against Wilmette rivals, Loyola Academy. Freshman Greta Mikulaninec and Junior Maeve Shannon picked up third and fourth place in the 200 freestyle. Sophomore Livia Cremer won the 200 IM with an in-season best with Junior Colleen Tracy clinching second for big points for the Wolfpack. Junior Angela Widiekis and Senior Madi Manning placed fourth and fifth in the 50 freestyle. Juniors Franchesca Sanchez and Margaret Hickey scored second and fourth place in the 100 butterfly. The Wolfpack (151 points) defeated the Deerfield Warriors (37 points) and Lane Tech Champions (150 points) to open the 2024 competition season at Deerfield. The Wolfpack open the meet with second and third-place finish in the 200 medley relay. Sophomore Chayse Massimino, Freshman Greta Mikulaninec, and Sophomore Maeve Shannon placed second through fourth in the 200 freestyle. Junior Colleen Tracy and Sophomore Livia Cremer swept the 200 IM for a 1-2 finish. Junior Angela Wideikis and Senior Madi Manning followed suit and swept the 50 freestyle. The Wolfpack (490 total points) won their 3rd straight title at the annual Dan O’Brien Relays at Fenwick. Freshmen Greta Mikulaninec, Alexis Ambrosino, Emma Pairone, and Elle Carlson scored second in the Freshmen 200 Medley Relay. Sophomores Penelope Del Aguila Solis, Mariposa Arroyo, and Chayse Massimino helped win the 200 Medley Relay. Freshmen Naomi Schubkegel and sophomore Livia Cremer teamed up with Arroyo to win the 500 Crescendo Relay. Ambrosino, Massimino, and Cremer placed second in the 4x100 IM Relay. Mikulaninec, Carlson, and Schubkegel were runner-ups in the 200 Freshmen Freestyle Relay. Pairone, Massimino, Mikulaninec, and Carlson won the 200 Butterfly Relay by more than 3 seconds ahead of Whitney Young. Del Aguila Solis and Schubkegel led off the 8x50 Freestyle Relay to secure second place. Cremer, Del Aguila Solis, and Schubkegel won the 200 backstroke relay by almost 10 full seconds. Ambrosino, Arroyo lead off the 200 breaststroke relay to win by just over 6 seconds over Fenwick. Mikulananic, Pairone, Carlson, and Ambrosino crushed the 4x100 Freshmen Freestyle Relay.
